The Household Economy Approach focused on the Mara division of Narok District.
The three areas in the district have similar characteristics in terms of their livelihood. The three Food Economy Zones (FEZ) are Pastoral, Agro-pastoral and Agricultural.
The FEZ studied in this report is Pastoral. This covers Mara, Osupuko, parts of Loita, Ololulunga and Mau divisions of Narok district, bordering Tanzania to the South, Mau Ranges to the North, Transmara to the West and Kajiado to the East.
